Stay Safe During Fire Season

Do your part by staying informed on the current restrictions for your fire center. Use the map above to find out what fire center you're in, and the restrictions that are in place. Or you can follow the link to the BC Wildfire Services interactive web map.

New this year, the BC Wildfire Service has released their own mobile app for reporting wildfires:

"The biggest asset for detecting new wildfires in B.C. is you! New this fire season, you can report wildfires directly through the BC Wildfire Service Mobile App. To use this feature, make sure you have the latest version of the app downloaded to your mobile device (version 1.6.0). The "Report A Fire" function is not available unless you are connected to Wifi or a data network.

Wildfires can still be reported to our Provincial Wildfire Reporting Centre (PWRC) at 1-800-663-5555 or by calling *5555 on your cell phone. If you have a satellite phone, radio, or spot device, you can get in touch with someone who is able to pass your report to the PWRC. Relay as much information about the wildfire or smoke as possible. Stay informed of the current wildfire situation through the BC Wildfire Service Mobile App. The app updates every hour, on the half-hour."
